Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sewista ("Sewista," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Sewista iPhone app, visit sewista.app, or contact us for support.

Sewista is designed to work without a Sewista account. We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.

The app stores the following information locally on your device:

• Your chosen profile name and onboarding preferences.
• Saved pattern identifiers and sewing preferences.
• Project progress, completed steps, gathered materials, notes, and timers.
• Notification preferences and locally scheduled project reminders.
• Cached catalog information, images, and pattern PDF files.

This personal workspace is not uploaded to Sewista's Firebase catalog. Other apps cannot access it through Sewista.

Google Firebase

Sewista uses Google Firebase Firestore and Cloud Storage to retrieve published patterns, images, and pattern PDFs. The app is read-only against this catalog and does not upload your personal projects, notes, profile name, or progress. Firebase may process a technical user-agent containing device, operating-system, app bundle, and developer-platform information to operate and improve its SDKs.

Apple and RevenueCat

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps Sewista present available products, validate purchases, restore purchases, and unlock subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase history and an automatically generated anonymous App User ID. Sewista does not send your name or email address to RevenueCat.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices: Google Privacy Policy, RevenueCat Privacy Policy, and Apple Privacy Policy.

The Sewista website does not currently use advertising cookies, behavioral analytics, or an online account system. Our hosting provider may process standard technical request information such as an IP address, browser type, request time, and requested page to securely deliver the website and prevent abuse.

If you email us, we receive the contact information and message you choose to provide. Please do not include sensitive personal information. We use support messages only to reply, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and improve Sewista.

Project reminders are local notifications. Sewista requests notification permission only when you enable reminders, and you can change that choice in the app or in iOS Settings. Sewista does not use push-notification tokens for marketing.

Sewista does not access your contacts or precise location, does not request Apple's tracking permission, and does not use your data for third-party advertising or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.

On-device project information remains until you delete an individual project, reset applicable settings, or delete the app. Device backups are controlled by Apple and your own iCloud or computer backup settings.

Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Apple, Firebase, RevenueCat, and our hosting provider retain service records according to their own policies and legal obligations.

Sewista does not currently create a personal Sewista account. For clear deletion instructions or to request deletion of information we control, visit our Data & Account Deletion page or email hello@sewista.app.

Sewista is a general-audience sewing tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support, contact us so we can review and delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, they use contractual or other lawful transfer mechanisms. Mandatory privacy rights in your place of residence remain unaffected.

We may update this policy when Sewista's features, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised date on this page and provide additional notice when appropriate.
