Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply when you download, access, or use Sewista, including its app, website, pattern catalog, support services, and optional paid features (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. If you are not old enough to do so where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you and supervise your use of the Service.

Subject to these Terms, Sewista grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service on Apple devices you own or control for personal sewing and craft projects.

Your license to the iOS app is also governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these Terms conflict with Apple's mandatory terms regarding the app license, Apple's terms control to that extent.

Sewista may provide sewing patterns, instructions, photographs, measurements, tips, and downloadable files from Sewista or credited designers. Each pattern may include its own usage or license terms; those pattern-specific terms control your permitted use of that pattern and any finished items.

Unless a pattern's license says otherwise, you may use catalog materials for personal, non-commercial sewing projects. You may not copy, resell, publish, redistribute, scrape, or make the pattern files or instructions available to others.

Sewing may involve sharp tools, hot irons, electrical equipment, moving machine parts, chemicals, and materials that can cause injury or allergic reactions. Sewista provides organizational and informational guidance, not professional safety advice.

Follow the safety instructions supplied with your tools and materials, use appropriate protective measures, and supervise minors. You are responsible for your material choices, measurements, construction decisions, and safe working environment.

Sewista may offer monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscriptions and, where displayed, a non-renewing or lifetime purchase. The exact product, price, billing period, included features, and any trial are shown before you confirm a purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account after confirmation.

Auto-renewable subscriptions continue until cancelled. Unless Apple states otherwise, renewal may be charged within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel through your Apple Account's subscription settings. Deleting Sewista does not cancel a subscription.

If Apple determines that you are eligible for a free trial, it will convert to the displayed paid plan when the trial ends unless you cancel beforehand. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple. Refund requests and billing disputes for App Store purchases must be made through Apple, subject to Apple's policies and applicable law.

We work to keep Sewista available and accurate, but the Service may occasionally be interrupted, changed, or unavailable. Catalog items, designers, features, and premium benefits may be added, updated, or removed over time.

We will not materially reduce the core benefits of a current paid period without a valid reason and any rights provided by applicable consumer law remain available to you.

You may not:

• Use the Service unlawfully or to infringe another person's rights.
• Attempt to bypass subscriptions, access controls, or security measures.
• Reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Interfere with the Service, catalog, servers, or other users' access.
• Use automated means to scrape, copy, or bulk-download catalog content.
• Misrepresent an affiliation with Sewista or a pattern designer.

Sewista, its branding, interface, software, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Designers retain rights in their credited patterns and materials. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used to improve Sewista without obligation to you, but we will not claim ownership of your personal project notes or finished makes.

The Service relies on third parties including Apple, Google Firebase, RevenueCat, and website hosting providers. Their services are governed by their own terms and policies. Sewista is not responsible for a third-party service outside our reasonable control, but we remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that every instruction is error-free, that every pattern will fit every person or material, or that the Service will always be uninterrupted.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sewista will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities arising from the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

You may stop using Sewista at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, address fraud or abuse, or respond to a material breach of these Terms. Subscription cancellation and refunds remain governed by Apple and applicable law.

These Terms apply alongside the mandatory laws and consumer protections of your country or region. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply.

We may update these Terms when the Service or legal requirements change. The revised date will be posted here. Material changes will receive additional notice when appropriate.
